Coureurs de Bois Trail Run and Relay

The Coureurs de Bois Trail Run and Relay (which means to run in the woods), is a celebration of the start of summer. Taking place in Petrifying Springs Park, in Kenosha, this trail event is perfect for all fitness levels. The event distances of 4, 8, 12, or 16 miles individual events or a 16 mile 2-person relay will fit all athletes, from those who soldiered through winter training to those who snuggled in and waited winter out.

The course is a 4-mile loop that starts in a wide grassy area and leads you to the single track trails that meander through the woods within the Petrifying Springs and UW Parkside. The hardwood forest provides the perfect distraction from the rolling hills and possible short steep climbs (depending on the mood of the race director). The optional chilly river crossing will serve as the reminder of the iciness of winter the promise of warmer days to come. For those that enjoy running or walking with their dog, this is a dog-friendly event. There will not, however, be a separate CaniCross division.
