The Copperhead 20k Relay was lots of fun. Relay teams could have 2-4 members, with each member running 5k lap(s). Each member could have 2 minutes deducted from their time by drinking a beer before running their lap, for a potential total deduction of 8 minutes. There was also the option of running the 20k as an individual, with the same potential deduction. For any runner under 21 or non-drinker, there was the option of chocolate milk. Before the main race, they held a couple of beer mile events (a competitive open beer mile and a Clydesdale and Athena event). The winner of each got a machete. There was no finishers medal but each participant got a pair of Copperhead socks and had the option of purchasing shirts or tanks. There was A LOT of beer available and the overall atmosphere was like a party.
