Run the Clear Creek Half Marathon, a picturesque course with a 1300 ft decent. Top of the canyon is 7000 ft to 5612 ft at the finish. This scenic run begins 30 miles south of Richfield, off of I-70 at exit 7. Runners will start at the top of Clear Creek Canyon running beside a beautiful creek and through steep canyon cliffs. Runners will continue past the Fremont Indian park and its 14 points of interest from newspaper rock, cave of 100 hands, Indian blanket, and the sheep shelter cave, to name a few.
Come early or stay a couple days to enjoy some of the local attractions. Check out the museum and all of its petroglyphs, pictographs and artifacts. Enjoy our trails for hiking, 4-wheeling, and fishing. Camp out or come stay in the many hotels in Sevier County.
The Clear Creek Half Marathon will finish about 1/4 mile from Hwy 89. Runners will be running on Clear Creek Canyon road, and just after crossing the overpass, they will then make a U-turn onto road 476 that parallels the freeway. It will be well marked!!

I saw a beautiful canyon photo on the website and some images of past medals in the shape of local petroglyphs, so I was really looking forward to this one. Apparently, this year was a transition year to a new race management group and the medal was . . . an hourglass? The canyon image was the highlight of the scenery, so it seems like they should have had the photographer there instead of taking pictures of all the aid stations and the backlit finishers at the finish line.
The shirt design was awesome! You also receive a free visit to the nearby Fremont museum. Definitely go to that and hike the trail on the grounds to see the amazing petroglyphs. Worth it!
