Ive lived in Phoenix 17 years and never knew this park was here. Like many other parks around town the canal runs through it, but unlike others there are waterfalls. It was cool walking around prior to the start and seeing photos from 1900 of people picnicking at the waterfall. The run itself is very smooth. An easy run along the packed dirt side off the canal, turn at the bridge, and come back on the paved side. Very flat and fairly easy. The race was well organized and nice swag for a 5K – a silicone bracelet, a chocolate bunny pin, and a nice chocolate bunny medal. Definitely recommended for a smooth 5K if you want an easter-themed race with good awards.
