The hills are concentrated in the middle. The starting miles are nice and almost flat, good for warm up. The last 4+ miles are relatively flat too, but that part is boring in my view. Aid stations were well supported and stocked. Parking was easy and cheap $5, food was great, plenty of it, nice cold drinks and swag was very good for the size of race that it is. Oh and access to real bathrooms at the start, bonus! Great value!

I know you post is a few years old but I was wondering if you would recommend this race for a newbie? I am looking into the 50K and haven't really run trails in a while. Have you ran this race since 2014? I am just trying to figure out how much hill work I would need to do with my training. Thank you!!! LESS

Sorry for the delay. Yes I would recommend this race for a newbie. The trail is not technical (not too many rocks) but there are a lot of hills. The course is pretty much relentless rolling hills. And, even though it is in November, it can get hot. Fortunately there are a lot of support stations and they are always well stocked. I did the race last year but the park has gotten a lot of rain since then and some of the trails were washed out. So the course may be slightly different this year. LESS
