MARCHING AGAINST TIME!
Resfeber (n.) Definition: The restless race of the traveller’s heart before the journey begins, when anxiety and anticipation are tangled together. 24 hours to do your best! 100 miles or more?
Welcome to the gateway of New England Running! The Centurion 24 Hour Ultra Trail Race will start and end at Noon! Go for, as long as, you wish: 26.2, 50K, 50M, 100K, 100 MILES or more, it’s up to you. There are no DNFs, everyone gets a memorable medal. The course has rolling hills, single and double tracks, including roots and rocks, typical New England! The course will be a 3.25 mile, irregular loop with hills, and two out-and-backs, so appropriate training is required.
Bib/Packet pickup will begin at 9AM at which time you can set up your own “Rest and Recuperation” (R&R) area for race gear for use in your 24 hour endeavor; (NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance/Friday night), between 9AM and noon, start to set up and get your bib picked up. Also, access to your vehicle will be nearby and at picnic tables, too; while you run through the day and night and day.
With only 25 pending spots, if you ever wanted to “Podium”, this is a good race to do it! There will be an award for first, second and third Female and first, second and third Male with the most amount of miles in the 24 hours (final decision is with the Timer-Man). And now, a $300 cash award the first Female and first Male with the most amount of miles, i.e. the Winners (to receive $300, you must complete 100 miles or more)! And also an incredible buckle will be given at no additional charge to all those achieving 100 miles in 24 hours. Remember, that does not win the race, it is the most miles achieved in 24 hours.
Update: A crew of two is allowed; note on pacing: there will be a $50 charge for anyone pacing for 12 hours, from midnight to race end (Noon) or a $25 charge for the hours of 6AM to race end (Noon), this covering food, insurance, some swag, hydration, etc). There will be a bracelet given with the participant’s name on it and placed on the pacer’s arm, also the pacer needs to sign a waiver form and an emergency name and number form; this will be done at the race and can be done at anytime, namely making sure the participant is close to their goal; no bracelet and found pacing, participant is disqualified, absolutely no excuses here.
Incentive number 2: for the first 15 runners, if you do not make 100 miles, but achieve a secondary goal of running 100K (62.4 miles), you will receive a commemorative buckle (100 milers: either or, not both, same pacing rules apply.
Also, note: To maintain the competitive integrity of the event, registration is FINAL. Please understand that there are absolutely no refunds, bib transfers or race deferrals for any reason. CDC/State/Town requirements are strictly applied.
