From event’s Facebook page (5/7/22): “Need to let everyone know EJ Adventures will be taking a break from hosting events moving forward. Trying to balance family life and hosting events became too much for us. We are actually expecting our first son later this fall and are excited for this new chapter in life.
Thank you to all of you who have supported us in our small yet very passionate grassroots endeavor for our Kentucky State Parks. Hope you are able to find a little bit of peace and beauty while out on those Kentucky trails.
Sincerely,
EJ Adventures”

This race was absolutely stunning!! I did this one as my KY race for all 50 states. Who knew this gem existed? It was a small race but had wonderful swag (t-shirt is so soft, loved the cup and the plaque), the race directors were amazing and so kind. They announced each person as they crossed the finish line. Snacks and aid stations were GREAT – so many options from candy to kind bars to electrolyte packets, you name it they had it. Super well supported course. Also very well marked! It rained the night before the race so the course was a soppy mess but still absolutely gorgeous. My road half time is a 1:40, and this took me 3:13 if that doesn’t say how challenging It was. About 2000 ft elevation gain, but you go through caverns, over boulders, up ladders, through rivers, over swinging bridges, up and down hills, and through a lot of super muddy horse trails (I sunk knee deep into a lot of them). If you take the time to take in your scenery, it’s just incredible. I placed 2nd female, and the girl who beat me did a 2:20. I did take a lot of photos though. It was just phenomenal. I cannot recommend this race enough. Wish I could insert photos of the beauty!

Overview. Let me introduce you to Kentucky’s Prettiest Half Marathon. Seven natural bridges/arches, a number of wet weather waterfalls, a lakeside vista, a clifftop vista, a pair of footbridges, loads of wildflowers, and plenty of gorgeous hardwood forest in between. There was so much to see – and photograph – that my phone died!
