The Carnegie Carnival in Decatur, AL boasts a season of events and entertainment from 12th Night in January until Carnival in February! The season culminates on parade day, and the Carnival Frolic 13.1 Half Marathon kicks off Parade day with a beautiful and scenic course winding along the Tennessee River and through some of our beautiful historic districts. Once you finish the race, make sure to stay for the kids parade, dog parade, and the Carnegie’s night parade that is absolutely and amazingly unforgettable.
Race starts at 8am. We know this is a late start, but we rely on our community volunteers to help us man the course and this allows for the maximum amount of participation from our partners. Plus it gives the weather a little time to warm up.
You can arrive as early as you want and there is FREE parking along Church Street and in the local church parking lots. Please do not park on bank street.
The race course time limit is 4 hours, as the children’s parade will need to begin.
