The Cape Wine Marathon is a 42km run through South Africa’s most picturesque destinations in the Cape Winelands. This is no ordinary marathon, this is a bubbly, fun and exciting adventure for the entire family. Each water point will be a social fiesta with wine, food and decadent treats.

Dress the part
Yes, we know it’s called a Marathon, but it’s no ordinary Marathon. It’s all about standing out from the crowd, dressing the part and having fun with your friends and family. This year’s theme is Carnival.
Call 9-wine-wine
The 42km route will start at Meerendal Wine Estate in Durbanville Hills and wind alongside popular wine estates in the area. This run is for the more serious runners or wine drinkers, with over 15 wine- and water points throughout the route. You will be spoiled with amazing scenery of the Winelands and experience South Africa’s best wines on the route. Dress up, join the party and enjoy the scenic trails the Western Cape has to offer.
Serious winer
The half-marathon route of 21km will start at Meerendal Wine Estate and continue through popular wine farms like Diemersdal, Signal Gun and many other. This route will have a total of 7 water- and wine points, each with their unique taste and atmosphere. Runners/walkers/crawlers/winers can enjoy the live music and a market afterwards at the finish.
10km on cloud wine
Start at Meerendal Wine Estate and run/walk through the beautiful vineyards and scenic Durbanville routes. The 10km run is perfect for any level of fitness to attempt with amazing wine- and water points located throughout the trails. Bring your friends, dress up for a fiesta and join us on 12 October 2019, for the Cape Wine Marathon.
5km don’t give a sip
You just want to get moving and experience the fun-filled day without adding to many miles to your shoes. The 5km race is perfect for those who would rather taste the wine at the start and finish, enjoy the market and live music.
