The race is held on Camp Roberts Army Reserve Base, so you must have a REAL ID to participate. You also have to get your vehicle pass before entering base, so give yourself an extra 10 min.

I really enjoyed the course. It is mostly an out and back course, but the turn around is at 8.5 miles, so the return is much faster. (And that is great mentally).
With a small field, you can really enjoy the scenery, while still having someone to chase.
Swag is OK, and race supports a good cause.
I’m a repeat runner, and will be back again!

The weather was very good for running. About 38 degrees at the start, minimal wind. Race started right on time. 275 feet of elevation gain, 13.23 miles. Course was very well marked with adequate aid stations and no spectators at all since it’s a military base camp and no one lives there. The medal was very cheap and the race is very small. I came in 2nd place overall for the half marathon and the marathon had very few runners with the first place runner coming in at around 3:30 hours. I will try and run it again next year only because I’m a local guy. If I was not from here, I’d probably not run it again.
