All races will begin on the east side of Bagnell Dam and finish on the west side across from the Celebration cruise boat. All courses are 100% asphalt roadway. The 25k course follows the half marathon with an additional out and back at Los Campanas.
For the Bridge & Dam Half Marathon, settle in for an easy pace to start and follow the other runners up the historic Bagnell Dam Strip to Highway 242 and turn left. Proceed down to the stop light at Highway MM, turn right and head to the Lake of the Ozarks Community Toll Bridge. The bridge will give you about ¾ mile of steady downhill and beautiful water views in both directions.
After crossing the bridge, run through the toll booth (don’t stop and pay – you are on a time limit!) and proceed on Highway MM for about a mile, past the Club at Porto Cima where you will catch glimpses of the golf course on both sides of the road. Once you reach Las Campanas (Heritage Isle subdivision) you will turn right and enter Porto Cima (roughly translated at “Hillside by the Harbor”).
As you get off the highway, we are already nearly 4 miles into the run. Just over .1 mile on Las Campanas you will turn right to remain on Los Companas. Again, on both sides of you is the stunning Club at Porto Cima golf course, Missouri’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course. Runners will follow Las Campanas for one mile until it ends and return back to Muirfield Dr. While running through this section of the course you will encounter one longer hill, but look around and take in the views. You are surrounded by the golf course water-front lots and multi-million dollar homes.
Looking across the Lake you can see the toll bridge, Baxter’s Lakeside Grille, and the exclusive Cedar Crest subdivision on Horseshoe Bend. Once back at Muirfield Drive, you are done with 6 miles and the course levels out a bit for the next 2 miles (by Lake of the Ozark standards). At Muirfield Court, you will turn right and make a small detour into the Punto Piloto subdivision where you will get another chance to run past lakefront homes and townhouses. Quickly out of Punto Piloto, you are back on Muirfield Drive for half mile before turning left onto Grand Cypress. It’s a quick jog uphill on Grand Cypress before turning left on Gleneagle and running until the road end. Here you get what looks like an intimidating hill, but it’s shorter than it appears. At this point you are 8 miles in and it’s time to head back to the finish.
A right on Grand Cypress, right on Muirfield Drive, and right on Las Campanas takes you back to Highway MM where you have just over a 5k remaining. Back to the toll bridge, where you have a ¾ mile uphill stretch. Take a look at the Lake again, it will be a nice distraction from the tiredness you are starting to feel. After you have conquered the toll bridge, there is a short hill back up to the Strip where you reach mile 12. From there it’s easy sailing and you drop 100 feet downhill to the finish.

Pack for everything and expect anything! This race was so much fun. Running in areas typically only traversed by vehicle was something special. 740+ feet of elevation gain, roaring winds 40 mph+, gorgeous views and pelting rain. What a day and what a race! I am already registered for next year!
They provide the option of a tee or a ladies tank, which I LOVE- I will wear the tank again and again. There was a very nice finisher’s medal also. If you wanted a stocking cap- it was an extra $15, which I did purchase.
