Birmingham Stage Race

The Birmingham Stage Race will be held on three distinctly different mountains, on three consecutive days, in Birmingham, Alabama. The first stage is on Ruffner Mountain, starting at the Nature Preserve. Stage 2 is at Red Mountain Park. Stage 3 is at Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham. The three mountains are within a 15 minute drive from the Thursday afternoon Package Pickup location at Mountain High Outfitters Store in Cahaba Village next to Whole Foods on Hwy 280.

The Stage Race will be a total of 56 very demanding miles. Stage 1 and 3 are primarily on single track trails and some of these trails are very technical with a few very steep. Stage two at Red Mountain is a bit more relaxed with gentle trails and no difficult climbs. Some of the trails used at Oak Mountain had never been used in a race until the 2013 stage race.

We have added a Two Day Stage Race on Saturday and Sunday for those that cannot make the Friday Stage. Runners may also enter any single stage but will not be eligible for awards.

Stage 1 – Ruffner Mountain Nature Preserve – 20 Miles
Stage 2 – Red Mountain Park – 16 Miles
