What a beautiful course and well organized race. Steep downhill at start for two miles, and gradual uphill for the last mile. Conditions were hot (24 degrees), but the organizers took very good care of us – fire trucks sprayed us down. Wonderful finish line right next to an outdoor patio at the Hotel Moskva, so your family can sip drinks as they wait for you to finish.

Belgrade Marathon as held for its 30th time. The webpage is in Serbian and English but I struggled a bit finding the information about the expo which was held close to the Republic Square in Downtown. Known for the (slightly) hilly old town and the flat, communistic/ socialistic buildings in new town the race offers a tour through both parts of the city. Three distances were offered: 10k, half and full marathon. For the full marathon the runners had to repeat a loop of the 21k track. The course has a bit of elevation change in the beginning and in the end, is flat and asphalted otherwise. Smooth race day organisation; T-Shirt and nice medal; a pick-nick bag and free beer at the finish line.
