I almost want to give a second shoe to the course difficulty strictly because of the mid-morning heat at that time of year. The race is mostly on the Ralston Creek Trail, which is only partially shaded. Overall it’s a pretty flat course. The race coincides with the Arvada Harvest festival and parade so the finish line area is usually buzzing with activity. If you’re within a 20 minute drive and itching to do a small half marathon, I’d recommend it! If you’re a competitive runner who seeks to podium (aka not me) some of the shorter distances have smaller fields.

I almost want to give a second shoe to the course difficulty strictly because of the mid-morning heat at that time of year. The race is mostly on the Ralston Creek Trail, which is only partially shaded. Overall it’s a pretty flat course.
