APO Stand Up to Cancer 5K

Join the fight against cancer this April at the University of Hartford’s Alpha Phi Omega Stand Up to Cancer 5K. The race will begin at 10:00AM on Isham Road in Blue Back Square, West Hartford, CT (right outside the Cheesecake Factory and Barnes and Noble). Check-in and last minute registration will be available at 9:00AM.

Put a team together, be an individual runner, bring your kids and your family and friends! Raise funds to donate to the cause and come out to support the fight against cancer.

Alpha Phi Omega is a national coeducational service organization founded on the principles of Leadership, Friendship and Service. It provides its members the opportunity to develop leadership skills as they volunteer on their campus, in their community, to the nation, and to the organization. With more than 400,000 members on over 375 campuses, Alpha Phi Omega continues to provide more service on more campuses than any other collegiate service organization.

Stand Up To Cancer’s (SU2C) mission is to raise funds to accelerate the pace of groundbreaking translational research that can get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. SU2C brings together the best and the brightest researchers and mandates collaboration among the cancer community. By galvanizing the entertainment industry, SU2C has set out to generate awareness, educate the public on cancer prevention and help more people diagnosed with cancer become long-term survivors.

SU2C promises that 100% of their donations go directly to those fighting cancer and to cancer research.
