Calico Racing has been directing our Extraterrestrial Full Moon Midnight race along the Extraterrestrial Highway, on the fringes of Area 51 annually since 2007. Over the past 16 years (and 1 year of Alien Escape, newly introduced amid covid for 2020) we have accumulated loads of left over medals. Enough so to have an “all aliens” themed recycled style run! Ancient Aliens features a hybrid style event; part recycled style, part a new twist on our vintage art styles! Medals and awards will be ancient (i.e. left over) medals from past ET and Alien Escape races. But the event shirts will be an updated version of early year shirt artwork- printed just for this event! The History Walk paved trails are completely removed from vehicular traffic. The path is mostly flat with only slight inclines/ declines- setting the stage for a PR, or perfect for the beginning runner. The course is walker and stroller friendly. Enjoy views of the Las Vegas Strip, Frenchman’s Mountain, landing aircraft, bunnies, and be close to the Vegas action! The 5K course starts at the History Walk near the Dunes Overlook and runs counter clockwise. The 10K course starts at the History Walk near the Dunes Overlook and runs counter clockwise. The 10K loops back near the start/ finish line at their mile 4.37. Then turns around for a short 0.92 mile out and back- finishing back where you started. Lap 1= 4.37 miles, Lap 2= 1.84 miles; total distance= 6.21 miles. The 10K course splits off from the 5K at mile 1.85; and runs together with the 1/2 Marathoners until mile 5.29. The 1/2 Marathon course starts at the History Walk near the Dunes Overlook and runs counter clockwise. The 1/2 Marathon makes 3 identical laps, turning around back near the start/ finish at their miles 4.37 and 8.74, and finishing back where you started. Lap 1= 4.37 miles, Lap 2= 4.37 miles; Lap 3= 4.37 miles; total distance= 13.11 miles. The 1/2 Marathon course splits off from the 5K at mile 1.85; and from the 10K at mile 5.29. ALL race entries include a custom technical shirt, “ancient” (left over) finishers’ medal, event timing, post race food, award eligibility, aid stations, and a fun time!
