Definitive Dutch Delight
An intriguing, intrinsically Dutch region just north of Amsterdam, flanked by water and beautiful countryside; this is the region of Westfriesland. Pircturesque villages and pretty towns, this race is one of Europe’s best active weekend escapes.
Swim
The one-loop 400 meter swim course is located in the old harbor of Hoorn surrounded by the beautiful scenery of this Dutch city. After completing the swim, you’ll use the short exit to continue towards the transition zone.
Bike
When you exit the transition zone the course will lead you to the ‘Zuiderdijk’. From this dyke, you’ll have an amazing view on the ‘Markermeer, a typical Dutch experience which can’t be matched by anything. After you complete the course on the dyke, the course will lead you through some villages in the region of Westfriesland where the impact and the history of the Dutch East India Company is still visible.
Run
The one-loop run course will allow you to experience the history of the city center and the Dutch East India Company heritage.
Passing by monumental buildings and the docks, your finish will be on ‘de Oude Doelenkade’ located right next to the start.
