The trails are rutted and downright dangerous in places if you aren’t wide awake. ‘Single file’ sections make passing difficult. We used to say: ‘sharpen your elbows’ before the Dipsea.

A good race for a personal best. This was the first year they’ve run it so it may not remain as small and manageable as it was this year. Would have preferred a medal for my collection, but a beer glass for first place in my age division was nice too. The kids 3/4 mile race was fun for my granddaughter.
