The Indy Half at Fort Ben is a well organized half marathon where you have room to move/breath within a couple of miles. The aid stations are plentiful (although the water was a bit cold for such a hot day). The rolling hills give you plenty of space to glide and build up before going uphill. We stayed at the Fort Ben State Park Inn – easy walk to the start.

With such a small race and late start time (8:30a), I wish we could pick up our bibs the day of so we would not have to spend a night.

Also, it was a little odd to have a prayer at the start of a race where ?some? proceeds benefit a public school system. Give us a moment of silence, but please keep religion out of it.

I did the Dopey Challenge and the biggest part of this challenge is waking up super early to catch a bus and stand in the cold for over an hour. Then stand in a corral for a while… then finally get to run.

The corrals were packed and you run shoulder to shoulder with people pretty much the entire race… for all of the races.

The buses at the end were well organized and easy to hop on and get back to the resort to shower and go park hopping with the family.
