This was my very first marathon and wow was it a great time! The pre-race communication was great, bib pickup was easy (I did it morning of), the start was not too early, and there were more people cheering than I expected for such a small race. My husband biked to a bunch of the checkpoints to cheer and take photos, which was great! There were some hills, but not too bad. There was plenty signage and staff along the route, and it was just so amazing to run by the ocean (even when the weather turned dicey).
As for swag, the long sleeve technical shirt was nice, as was the medal, but I mostly appreciated the warm clam chowder and cider doughnuts afterwards! What a wonderful race!
