It was hard because I had to watch my foot placement with each step. The erosion at the beginning of the course was hard.
I wasn’t very happy with the road etiquette. I run intervals therefore I am hugging the right hand side of any race so people can pass me. I always raise my hand when I transition to a walk. I found it impossible to pass groups that seemed to always be in the middle of the track.
And something that cost me alot of time was the potties at mile 7, there were only 4 so that wait was probably 12 minutes!! I believe there were double that at mile 5, and I think only 3 at mile 9. Need more all along the course not just the first few miles. I, along with many of the runners I was pacing with were just out of gas the last 3 miles but I tried hard. As mentioned earlier the finish chute was scary. I always sprint the last 1/2 mile but was not possible at this race.
