It seems like a ton of time and effort was put into the great swag (necklace, shirt, bag, towel, etc), but important race aspects were missing. Almost every water station had a line. Volunteers were frantically trying to fill water cups using one big container. There was NO water at the Finish Line. I stood in line for 30 minutes to show my wrist band in order to receive my necklace, and then another line where there was ONE person there with scissors to cut off the wrist band of all the runners. By this time, we still have not received food or water. Once I walked to the food tents, the lines were so long that I gave up and drove back to my hotel.

My husband and I were on vacation and had found this race online and planned on doing it on the way home. Pros: supports a great cause, fun downhill to begin the race. Cons: poorly managed. There was confusion as to where the actual starting line was. The course was changed at the last minute because they realized it was too short. Roads were not closed. It was bizarre and dangerous running with traffic, at times no sidewalks. Plastic medals at the end. A few pretty stretches, but mostly MEH.

There is so much variety in this race! Run across Golden Gate Bridge! You will also runthrough Golden Gate Park, which is beautiful! There is a lot of support on the course and encouragement from spectators, motorcycle clubs, etc. The hills are a killer, but I love the downhills!!
