I’ve run the Flying Pig full 3 times and the half 3 times. It is by far my favorite race. It is not too big and not too small, lots of fan support, great volunteers and overall a great atmosphere. Miles 6-8 are significant hills, but the downhill makes up for it! They have an amazing afterparty and a lot of food options for finishers (pizza, all types of fruits, nutrition bars, etc.) The finisher’s medal is one of the best. This year the weather wasn’t the best but it still was a really good time.

Awesome marathon. The positive energy from the crowd and other runners was off the chart. Very well organized, especially when you consider there are close to 45,000 runners! Water/Gatorade stations were well placed and well manned. Crowd support was unbelievable with very little of the course not covered with people, often two or three deep.

There is wonderful crowd support. So much food and drink handed out its kinda out of control. Lots of bacon and beer but also the traditional Gatorade, water, gels, orange slices, cookies as well as Vaseline, etc. People cheering at almost every mile.

This was a really fun race. There was lots of support along the route, both cheering and giving stuff out. There is a fairly significant set of hills from mile 6 to around 9 but it’s mostly rolling to downhill after mile 9. Even though I didn’t do as well as I would have liked I will do this race again.
