The race has beautiful scenery – fall colors everywhere, beautiful houses. Miles 5-7 are the hardest. Mile 5 starts uphill, and throughout those few miles there are a lot of inclines. The amazing spectators (and their dogs!) truly help and are so happy and encouraging. Nothing beats being at the top of the hill, seeing the Capitol and the finish line ahead!
