I love this race! The weather can be tricky. Once it was burning hot. This year the clouds saved us. I didn’t like running past the finishers party before finishing the race. I love the bling and the beer garden! Everyone was so friendly!

Although there were lots of hills, it was definitely doable! If possible, it would be nice to run a more scenic route. Running with a view of the lake was especially relaxing. I did not like only receiving one shirt for running two races. I’m used to getting a shirt for each race, or a challenger shirt for completing both races.

The weather was great for this race in addition to the ocean view! I loved the staggered starting times which enabled most everyone to finish around the same time. The shirts were really nice and the medal was cute AND useful! If anything, it would be nice to have clarification of the race day pick up. I didn’t find out, until after I had to make arrangements for pre-pick up, that it was available the morning of the race. I can’t wait to go back next year!

I loved the bling for the bike/half marathon combo race. Be prepared to complete it as if you were competing in a duathlon. It was pretty brutal to have to run the half marathon IMMEDIATELY after completing the 20 mile bike ride. Even with that challenge, the bling was nice. I’ll definitely be back next year!

This was one of the smaller RnR races but still was nice. The race went along the streets and neighborhoods of the city and the residents cheered us on, along most of the race. The beer garden was seamless and made the race even more rewarding!

This race started WAY TOO LATE which caused everyone to have to run under the hot sun! Although we had the view of the ocean, it got boring, after a while, especially since the race was a “up and back” race. It was nice cel to know everyone around the world was racing at around the same time, but I really recommend the race start no later than 7:30.

They started the race, way too late, at 8:30 AM, in July. They ran out of water cups along the route. You had to run the same course twice to complete the 10K. You had to seek out and locate the medal table and there was a LONG line for water, at the finish line. Lastly, it would be nice to have separate medals for the 5 and 10K runs.

The race is always started with a pre-race warm up that gets everyone hyped! The medal is adorable! The race jacket (included with registration) is well made. The hills are definitely challenging but a great accomplishment once you’re past those obstacles! Would do this every year, if possible.
