This was my first and only marathon. I chose to run the 25th Flying Pig to celebrate my 60th birthday. The rain couldn’t stop the joy of the race. I actually loved running in the rain. I didn’t love running in the heat and humidity for the last long stretch along Riverside but I survived!

This is a great race! It’s primarily for women (men start in the last pen). It’s in the fall and usually nice and cool. Unlike the Flying Pig, the steepest hill is in the beginning of the race and not at mile 6. The swag is always awesome and the after party is a blast.
