Kristi Leah's Staging Area

I blew a disc at age 12. Lived a life limited by the constant inescapable pain. Later in life, I discovered exercise helped the pain… and I kept pushing. Eventually that path led to running. Finally found a surgeon I trusted at age 43 (now age 45) and had a complete disc replacement.  By the time I had my surgery, I had just run an 8.6 mile trail run in Pine, AZ- my longest distance at that point. Had the surgery and began training again at 6 weeks and ran my first half marathon just under 6 months post surgery.  When I don’t run and workout, I feel pain again, so I continue to seek out races that intrigue me, develop my training plan, and go for it. Without something to train for, I feel lost… At some point, I would really like to do a 30k but I haven’t decided where…
