This race is my favorite of the year! It’s a huge race with thousands of people, and for me that adds to the excitement! The course isn’t bad at all, a few constant inclines but no steep hills (at least on the half course). The weather wasn’t bad this year at all as well. The corrals are clearly marked and loaded by pace time. Make sure you get there early if you want to be at the front of your corral! I already can’t wait until next year! ?

This course for the Half is great. Lots to see, lots of excitement! Best part for me was running through Main Street and the Stockyards. Downtown was fun too. Everyone warns you about the mile 9 bridge into downtown…it isn’t so bad. The cobblestone through the stockyards wasn’t awful, but you do have to watch your feet. If I were going for a PR, that part of the course would bother me. This was my first full so I was not sure what to expect once the marathoners and ultra runners broke off at mile 10. The vibe drastically changed for me. Less runners, less excitement. Once you get into the neighborhoods it seemed like there was a hill around every corner! They weren’t horribly long hills, but it was difficult none the less. This year the weather was hot and it was almost 70* once the sun came out, so that added to this race being difficult. I was hoping for cold weather! The last couple of water stations had hot water, not too great. The GU stations were not clearly marked either. I don’t think I saw any until maybe mile 21 or so. When I ran Dallas the Cliff GU were separate from the water stations, so we knew exactly where to find them. After the race I felt it was really organized as far as getting your finisher medals, food, shirts, etc. My husband did say after the half there was a long line to get all of these items. But obviously by the time I finished there was no line ☺️ The location for the start and finish is great also. Easy to park, easy for spectators to be right by the action. I will definitely come back and run the half here next time!

This was my first big race, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. So many people ride DART to the race, so you need to get an early train because they fill up! I didn’t see any parking at the race so I’m not sure what parking is actually like. They had three corrals. There is just one start and then all of the corrals file one after the other. It was a decent course. I thought at the time it was hilly, but now that I’ve experienced more than this race I realize it wasn’t bad at all! Lots of gradual inclines it seemed. You run though some pretty neighborhoods. Water stations were on both sides of the street, Cliff shots were at their own location which made them easy to see as well. Course is very clearly marked off. After the race they handed out finisher bags filled with food. Planning to run it again!
