I was never a runner until I ran the Fargo 1/2 in 2012. I lost 50 pounds training for it and decided to try the full the following year. I have completed the last 6 full marathons and the course gets better every year. Everything from urban streets to scenic river trails to college campuses. Flat course with fast times. The fans along the route never stop keeping you motivated. They switched to a hooded sweatshirt two races ago for swag. The first year they were kind of thin, but the 2018 is unbelievably comfortable. Looking forward to May 2019 already!

Ran this race three years in a row. Had a back issue that resulted in surgery. Asked to differ to the following year and was told it was not possible and that I could consider my fee a donation. That was nice of them…… Back to running the following year and they bumped the price to $175. For a runner that has other financial obligations (like most) I will do the Mankato or Fargo marathons that are more cost effective and easier to work with.
All that being said, it is a beautiful course and I miss it. If you have money to burn and don’t mind the poor customer service, this is a good race.
