This race was well-put together and challenging. While my time was decent overall, I struggled on the long stretch of uphill climb. The views were incredible, and ending in East Glacier was very cool. The shuttle service ending so early was my only complaint; 5am was the last shuttle we could take, and the race didn’t start until 6am. While the shuttle got us to the start in plenty of time, it was pretty chilly and tough to hang around until the start.

This was my first Vacation Race event, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Even though the race doesn’t actually take place inside Rocky Mountain National Park, it is still a stunning race to participate in. The start of the race is super early; I was a little apprehensive about this, but it ended up working out because my friends and I still had the whole day after we were finished with the race. The long uphill grade in the first half of the race was challenging but manageable, and the second half was mostly flat or downhill.
This is a great race, and I highly recommend it! It’s a great way to work a race into a vacation!
