The first thing to know is that Vacation Races puts on the best races. Everything is so well organized, which is great when you are traveling for a race. This year the race happened to be scheduled for when the annular eclipse was happening, so that made it a unique experience. I loved that Vacation Races included special eclipse glasses with our race bib. This also led to a change in the race course, because of the expected increase in people in the area for the eclipse. The course was mostly on the 10 mile Page Rim Trail, which was such a treat. Spectacular views! Post-race, VR has great spots set up for photos with your race medal. The race medals always depict something specific to the area of the race, this one being the Rainbow Bridge, and tells about that place on the back of the medal. Great experience and I am already looking forward to my next VR race!

First off, this a pretty tough course, but do this one for the views and the experience, not the PR! The race is not in Yellowstone park, but rather in the Gallatin National Forest. But it is still a very beautiful course and a great reason the visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. I suggest trail shoes to save your toes from the rocky second half of the course. The volunteers were great for this race. The race medal was stunning! And I purchased a tank shirt that I just love! The only negative thing I have to add is that the staggered start times were off, my start was actually about half an hour before what was listed in the race guide. I would recommend this one for the experience!
