Lori Patterson's Staging Area

This timed race occurred on a beautiful and flat trail near the ocean. Without a doubt, one of the best times I’ve had because of the awesome volunteers and participants. Each lap was approximately 9/10th of a mile with an aid station stocked with watermelon, pickles, baked goods and other delicious treats. I was able to camp before and after the race. Being so close to the ocean, I was able to take a post race swim under the stars. Had an amazing time. Definitely doing this race again.

This road race starts and ends at the European Village in Palm Coast. The shirts were awesome and the festivities after are great. Race includes one small bridge but is otherwise a flat course.

The Superhero 5K is a fun local fundraising event for families. Superhero costumes are encouraged and celebrated. The course is on cement roads in Palm Coast’s Towne Center. The kids runs and obstacle courses looked really fun. Great family event.

This 50k consists of 5 laps around a BMX bike trail and comes complete with tons of rolling hills, steep hills, roots, shells, rocks, and soft pine needles. If you are looking for a challenging 50K trail race, this race is for you. For finishing, we got a handtowel and a magnet that lists all the events (10k/50k/100k). Was disappointing since this was my first.

The medals are epic and the race was fun. Perfect sized race for new and experienced runners. Location was on the water and through downtown Jacksonville. Food after the race included yummy brownies, fruit, chicken and rice. Beer and Vodka drinks also provided. Fun race.

Nice race in Towne Center of Palm Coast with flat course that’s out and back on streets and sidewalks. Holiday lights are nice and the food was delicious. Would recommend for locals.

Enjoyable small race with a nice trail and sidewalk combo. Weather was a little warmer than I would have liked but overall a good race. Would recommend for locals.

Lovely run under the trees. Run is mostly on asphalt trail but some sand. Around 100 participants with nice rewards for those that place. Great race for starting the new running season. Also had a fun run for the little ones with all receiving ribbons.

Race started after 8:30 and it was super hot outside. The mob of runners never thinned out. Lots of folks walking in groups so was tricky and in some place impossible to pass. Cost me 2 minutes pace in the first mile alone. Plenty of water stations. View was nice over bridges and through upscale neighborhoods. Race finished in the parking lot and required a mileish walk from finish line to post “party” and meet-up. No shade. Too hot. Line to get in to party. Couldn’t tell you about the food because I never found it. Walked away with a bottle of water and my finsiher’s medal. Another mile of shadeless walking to parking and then hour plus weight in traffic to get out of Jacksonville. City detour signage for road closures was basically nonexistent. I would not do this race again.

The course offers stunning water views and the after party was epic! Free post race mixed drinks and beer, delicious food options (chicken and rice, sandwiches, donuts, brownies, etc.). LOVE this race series!!!

Enjoyable run through Lehigh Trail at night. Generally very dark. Favorite part of run was through lighted canopy of trees near trail bridge. One adorable rat snake spotted almost too late. Parts of run were overly crowded, turnarounds were abrupt and I had a terrible run because of upset stomach with not enough toilets. Thought I would PR this run because basically flat but wasted too much time looking for places to take a bathroom break without being eaten by something swampy along the trail. 🙂

So far, my favorite marathon/half event! Spectacular views of historic buildings, Puget Sound, Lake Washington and Mt. Rainier. Runners start and finish at the Seattle Center near the Space Needle. Finishers received awesome medals and t-shirts. Course was somewhat hilly. Parking and traffic was a little traumatic but that was my only complaint.
