What a gorgeous race. I had participated in a half marathon where I achieved a PR the week prior, so I wasn’t racing this for speed, I was racing this for the enjoyment. Ran with my dad and some friends, and couldn’t get over the great views of the river and the beautiful houses. Course was a bit hilly, but nothing too dramatic. Packet pickup was easy on race day, swag was nice, and food was good. I had a great time and will participate again next year.

Ran this race specifically to PR in the half marathon. My previous PR in the half was a 1:45:35, and I had heard great things about the One City race so I decided to give it a shot. I was able to get a PR of 1:32:47. The course is mostly flat, with hills being long and steady as opposed to steep. The final stretch is brutal, just goes on forever as you slog to the end, but there is about 150 meters as you turn a bend to the finish line and the crowd goes nuts to get you to the line. Had a great race and will attempt to BQ at the full in 2025.

Had a blast running this race, just wish it could have been full length. Rains caused the course to be shortened to 10.6k. I decided to race it as a 10k opposed to my planned 15k and set a 10k PR. Course was mostly good with a few puddles. Richmond Road Runners consistently hosts quality races.

This is the race that changed my life! I had run many 10ks and 5ks in the past, and was certain I was a short distance runner. A friend convinced me to join the Richmond Half marathon and ever since I’ve been hooked on running. The race was gorgeous, the energy was overflowing at the start line. I had no idea there was so much crowd support. My first 6 miles I ran faster miles than I’d ran in years. After I finished the first thing I asked my coach was “When is the next one!?” Currently training to qualify for Boston Marathon and have now run 3 more half marathons with many more planned. Packet pickup was easy, expo was a blast, crowd support was like being in an arena with 30,000 fans! I had the best time and this will become an annual race for me to participate in.
