Great course with long up/downs and a bit of an unsmooth undulating road. This is my first marathon in Australia and it has a great feel to it. With the Cadbury connection you can walk away with a great medal and a few chocolate blocks in your bag. That alone is worth struggling to the finish line

If you love race day to be fun this is a great event that is extremely organized for foreign runners. To run the Aqualine is unique, has amazing scenery and a sky show above to take your mind off the 30m elevation in the middle with helicopters doing formation flying. The run down the other side of the bridge is fast and every volunteer never stops encouraging you on. Drink stations are plentiful as well as toilets. On course you really didn’t need to wait to use one.
Like with most Japanese marathons they love to stick some hills in the way around the 36km mark and this marathon too has that challenge but overall the roads are excellent and smooth to help you have a fast event.

Enjoyable not memorable would be a fairly harsh way to view this race. Wouldn’t put it as my most favorite but one that I wouldn’t discount doing either. The course is enjoyable being an in out course along side the ocean front. Kobe too is an amazing place to visit with so much culture and to see the aftermath of the great earthquake there is amazing and something the race represents. If you missed out on Osaka I would advise to do this race you won’t be disappointed.

The race expo was big and you can take a lot away from it. The race isn’t the most scenic but does go past a lot of Osaka highlights. The real experience is being able to face with 30,000 friends that can support you all the way.
