Had fun and the scenery was nice. First half of the marathon had many small rolling hills but they weren’t too difficult. Awesome spectators and volunteers! I already signed up for next year’s race! Hopefully I can crush this year’s time.

This is my 3rd year running this race! This year it was a bit hotter than the last 2 previous years. Even though the half start time was at 0730, they let those who were running the half start with the marathoners @0600. Plus they did have more water stations throughout the course. Usually at around mile 10 they have the little packets of energy goo, but they must have ran out because when I got there they had none. I just seen a few empty boxes on the ground. I was a little bummed out because I was really needed that little bit of energy. I love this course with the exception of a couple of inclines going to and from the queen Mary. But that just motivates me to train harder so I can dominate those hills! 🙂 Hopefully next year the weather is cooler!

I’ve ran a few 5k’s but never the Long Beach one. I really enjoyed it! I especially love the end where we got to run through the aquarium. The only thing that I found a little difficult was when I was running into the aquarium, it was a little difficult to see because my eyes had to adjust from being in the bright sun to parts of the aquarium that was dark. But at least they had volunteers thereto guide you in the right direction!! Thank you to all the volunteers for all your hard work and support!! Much appreciated!!!
