I love running downtown, you get to see all the places in KC and run on the roads that are normally packed with cars. There are some hills, but this year the rain is what I noticed the most and maybe the blisters. The hills were manageable. The race is set up well, lots of aid stations. I never felt like I didn’t get enough fluids even being at the end of the pack. They do need to expand the gate area or start doing waves of people. Lots of supportive people at the aids stations and even through the neighborhoods. Thanks, but I’ll pass on the beer for now. 🙂 😉 I like the downhill finish, it helped to propel me to finish strong. I didn’t get the BBQ or beer at the end, but I was running to just finish my first marathon.
