The course was mostly flat until you hit mile 19 or so where you hit a series of rolling hills. This is where you will start seeing most runners start to significantly fade. The weather was also atrocious. Mostly head winds for the early miles along the beach but you got a nice tail wind on the same portions about half way through the race on the way back. The last 3 miles should have been beautiful as you were hugging the coast line but the rain was coming down heavily at that point and you were battling what felt like 40 m.p.h. head winds. This surely destroyed my chance for a BQ. Missed it by 2 minutes. Kudos to the race volunteers who were very supportive along the way and braved the elements for a long stretch of time. Overall, this was a special experience and could have been perfect given the right weather conditions.
