The course is slightly rugged, good amount of sun and shade (or rain cover if needed). If you come expecting to see the mountain on the course, please don’t be disappointed if she doesn’t show up, she can be bashful at times. Vacation Races put on an amazing race this year as they did last year, and I’ll keep going until I get to see the beauty of Rainier on the course.

Mt Rainier is fickle, likely when you think you’ll see her, she’ll be hiding her crown. Though this the best time of the year to see her, we got skunked. By no means does this mean you won’t see beautiful scenery along the run, the mountain just might elude you. As a local, I can tell you it’ll be worth the trip once, twice or ten times to get a chance to see it up close just for that one in a million view. As far as race production, this has been a funky year for group events and the start of the race was anticlimactic, but the announcers were fun and energetic as they always are. The finish line was set up in a nice field and had good viewing for supporters. The swag booths were so very accessible at the finish line too, for those of us that had to have someone pick up their race packet! 12/10 will run again
