I would definitely recommend this race to my friends. We had about 20 members of the Foothill Flyers Running Club participate this year it is a must do team event. The aid stations are wonderful, the volunteers arguably even better. At the finish line, there are home made chocolate chip cookies and homemade eggrolls! The shirts are awesome and outer space themed. The metals are large and creatively done. The course winds through the beautiful state park and makes you feel like you’re on the set for Star Trek movie. The course has quite a bit of singletrack trail, so you need to be polite and Jim to the runners on their way back. My one suggestion would be that the race director give some directions on course etiquette to newer trail runners before the race. The runners were friendly and encouraging. What a wonderful vibe.

This race is flat and fast. Odds are the weather will be amazing. It was still in the perfect low 60’s after my run. My buddy ran the full marathon and it was still 66 degrees when he finished at 10 am. I highly recommend this race. Staffing is great, it isn’t too large. The shirts and the medals are great. Loved getting a hat this year! Nice touch to have the beer garden and bands at the finish.
