affordable entry, food, lodging, flight prices; lively well-stocked Expo with informative clinics; high odds for perfect weather; efficient busing to the start included in entry fee; point-to-point course with scenery changing from rural to urban, trees in full fall color, good pavement, few turns, gently rolling; supportive spectators that increased in numbers as finish got closer; spot-on Pace Team Leaders; knowledgeable, capable volunteers; good schwag; race management folks know what they are doing!
