The Tulsa Route 66 race is a pretty hilly one, and at about the 12 mile point there’s a pretty mean one. Both times I did this race I had to walk that thing. But the Route takes you through some beautiful communities and along side of the river. Lots of water/Gatorade stations and plenty of portable potties (which is important to me). The medals are always pretty cool as well as the race swag, usually a nice zip up for the longer distances and a pullover shirt for the shorter. The expo is always busy with lots of great vendors. There are plenty of hotels within walking distance of start and finish and plenty of restaurants to walk to as well. The Route 66 is also the home of the World’s Shortest Ultra Marathon with a cool commemorative coin. It’s definitely one of the top half’s in my opinion.

We had a great time running this for the first time in 2018. Wanted to run it this year as well, but must go out of town to see family. It’s not a hard course, but fabulous to just run and visit with friends. The medal and shirt were sooooo cute!!! The reason we picked this Thanksgiving run over one closer to us in Edmond. Bonus was we felt totally okay with eating ALL the Thanksgiving goodies afterwards.
