I love this race so much I’ve run it twice and have signed up for a 3rd go at it in 2020. I’ve run large marathons (Chicago, Disney, Boston), and small one (Indy, Louisiana) and Indy is as well managed as any of the Marathon Majors races. There are a lot of spectators along the course, it’s flat, the weather tends to be ideal (knock on wood) and getting a hotel nearby is super easy (and won’t break the bank). There are a large amount of water stops and bathrooms along the Marathon route, almost more than I needed but I would rather have more than less. The expo and race shirts and swag leave something to be desired, as does the finish line party, but that’s really the only set of things I could say… and those things truly don’t matter as much IMHO. Once you run this race, you’ll wonder why people pay so much for the really big races that are usually logistical nightmares.
