I did the full marathon last year and the half this year. The race organization is always incredible, the course is challenging but if you add some hills to a few training runs, it’s not that bad. The spectators are what make this race and weekend so special though. It feels like the whole city comes out to support the runners in funny and creative ways. It’s always a blast.

This is a fun race every year, especially since it ends at Oktoberfest for the after-party. The first half of the course is scenic and interesting but gets a bit boring/industrial in the second half. The hills are challenging and make for a run that you can feel very proud of accomplishing! I also love that it’s part of the brew hog series.

This was my first marathon and I was so happy to run it in my hometown of Cincinnati for the 20th anniversary of the Flying Pig. Since I live in Cincinnati I already knew that this is a great race but running it myself and seeing all the amazing spectators and the hard work of the volunteers really made me appreciate my city even more. The spectators really helped get me through the whole race and the race communication made the whole weekend run smoothly. Would recommend to anyone!
