Hangover of Miami Marathon is still lingering. The day is still reeling in the eyes of my mind. Yes, I ran Miami Marathon 2019!!
Miami Marathon is very special to me as it is similar in many ways to my hometown Mumbai. The city, people, weather everything comforts me. That’s the reason I run here, as a tribute to Mumbai Marathon ( India ).
My Story on the race day … I WITNESSED…
The beautiful skyline of Miami brightening up early in the morning, Dolphins joyfully playing in the sea, Eagles spreading their wings and sunbathing to the sunrise, Peacocks in their full glory in the garden of a beautiful house.
Love, respect, care, cheer, happiness, pain, guts to quit on the route by fellow runners.
How strangers were giving free hugs to the sweaty, stinky running bodies, those little boys and girls standing patiently to give HI fives to the marathoners, kindness of the onlookers who clapped/cheered/encouraged runners nonstop, how cheer girls / bands tried to brighten up or powerup the tired runners.
How selfless volunteers cheering, offering water/Gatorade to the runners, How Medical stations tirelessly offering medical aid to the runners,
How caring were the first responders while they were serving a dehydrated runner.
Patience, warmth, love of Miami police officers throughout the route, Tremendous patience among all the photographers who clicked pictures throughout the day with a huge smile on their face!
The hospitality of Miami citizens/residents on the by-lanes of the full marathon course.
The large heart of the volunteer who gave me a bear hug after putting that lovely masterpiece medal around my neck at the finish line.
I LOVED what I witnessed and experienced. I loved every moment I spent on the race day.
I want to thank each and every individual who is connected to this race and made this race a memorable one for all the runners including me. I am grateful to each one of them.
Thank you Miami Marathon Organizers for an amazing experience.
Miami, I love you, I am coming next year to salute you, to salute your spirit!!
