This was my first time doing the 10k. Dropped from the marathon to the 10k with no issues. Showed up at the start of the 10k and just ran.
The start was the worst I have ever seen it. There were only 2 entry points into the start corrals. So good luck getting to the corral you were assigned to.
Running around Tempe Town Lake is one of my favorite places to run in Arizona so this course was perfect for that. I am a local and used to all Az has to offer in terms of scenery. It is a relatively flat course through a city and around a man made lake.

This race has gone through many management changes but has continued to thrive. Each management company has brought something new to this long standing duathlon. The trail run is a great way to start and end the race. The bike is challenging but beautiful.
There aren’t many choices for duathlons in the desert but that isn’t the reason this one is surviving. This race is great for racers of all abilities and is the perfect way to kick off the Multisport season every year.
