“Repeat” because I broke my foot in Tokyo 2019 at mile 18. Then pandemic hit in 2020 so race was cancelled. In 2023, international runners were able to participate Tokyo marathon. I would do this race again even tho it’s kinda chaotic the first 10k since everyone is trying to beat the cutoffs.

This is my 5th star of the six world marathon majors. I didn’t train as much as I did Boston and Big Sur. But I’m glad they still let runners get an official time over 6:15. It’s a flat course. But I had a hard time with the time zone difference. Didn’t get much sleep even I was there 6 days before the race. I will definitely do this race again.

This is my 4th star to complete the six world marathon majors. So DNF is not an option. I got in thru charity since I will never qualify. I had to apply for 10 charities and only 1 accepted me. So it was tough even getting in thru charity. It was the memorable epic marathon race ever, torrential rain, head winds 30 mph, and temp below 40s. Quite a few elite runners had to drop out because of the weather condition. So I’m very proud that I finish and got my official time. My 4th star is complete. On to the next star, Berlin!
