Amazing race. You are running along the ocean the entire marathon. You start before the sun rises and we had a spectacular full moon. There is not one lull in beauty on the whole course. The first 10 miles or so is along the ocean in some cool towns, then you run along the water through a nature sanctuary area, all the while seeing the sun start to rise begin you over Haleakala. You then run about ten miles on a super scenic road with crashing waves and cliffs on one side of you and desert like mountains on the other side. Runner’s were literally stopping and just taking pictures. Course was basically flat and volunteers were awesome- super nice and enthusiastic. Aid stations had water, Gatorade, and fresh fruits and treats later on. Plenty of aid stations and bathrooms. Most of the time you are running in a nice wide bike late about 8 feet wide. Post race is on a beautiful beach with water, fruit, snacks and some amazing homemade healthy bars. I saw 3 whales during the race. You will not regret doing this race. Race director was very informative and responsive to questions. Tee shirt and medal are beautiful.

Very well run race. There are plenty of aid stations with enthusiastic volunteers. Course is mostly flat. Wind was a challenge for me! Medal and shirt were very nice. Course is scenic at times and well protected from traffic. This race is worth doing for sure.

Well run, scenic course, great experience. I ran with a pacer group that was amazing. Plenty of ocean views and mostly flat. One big hill near the Ocean House in Watch Hill (I think around mile 9), but totally worth the beauty. Great after party with DJ, homemade chowder, and snacks. T shirt is real hip and retro. Do this race !

Overall great experience. Course was just ok, some pretty parts and then some plain neighborhood sections. But, really well run race with amazing after party: Yasso frozen yogurts, free Narragansett beer (2 per runner) and a killer live band! T shirt is top notch and the medal is real nice. If you need a summer half, this one is fun.

This is a great race. The views though Gloucester and Rockport are amazing. Long stretches of oceans, shoreline and sea rocks. You also run through beautiful old sea side neighborhoods. Well run and supported with good volunteers and aid stations. Some windy rolling hills to keep it interesting. Medal was just ok but long sleeve tech shirt was top notch. After party at Cape Anne Brewery was great- all runners and 1 free beer. If you are looking for a December half to finish the year and keep you training, this is is! You won’t be disappointed.
