I found this race through Findmymarathon.com, it’s not so far from Maryland and I can easily drive to there, then the time is November, the temperature would be good for marathon, but it was hot in 2022, I saw more than 10 people lying on the roadside for medical help. Basically, the temperature would be good, 44-55F.
1. 5 for the organization, it is great, the bib pick up is easy.
2. 3 for parking on race day. There are so many public parking garages around the race start, but parking is always a headache everywhere, so I’m not complaining.
3. 3 for the start wave. The start wave is not long enough for the runner who can run into 4 hours, so it was a little crowded, and you can lose 30-60 seconds in the first mile, it’s a huge loss. It would be better to make the start wave longer, at least wave #1-#3.
4. 3 for the water station. It looks like they support as 2/3 water but 1/3 hydration water. hydration water should be the main.
5. 5 for the Richmond people! They are amazing!
6. 5 for the after race place, they have food and drink at the island which is very nice.
I signed up for 2025 immediately on Sunday, it will be the 4th time for me, and I would come back every year!
