The event features runners from 19 countries and 31 states and is supported by a large volunteer contingent from every walk of Bahamian life.
Sunshine Insurance, in its role as the lead sponsor and organizer for Marathon Bahamas, is committed to foster strategic relationships with organizations for the advancement of breast cancer awareness, research and treatment. Relationships that could significantly impact the health of Bahamians, especially in the areas of breast cancer and other women’s health issues.
THE PINK RUN 5k, Bahamas is an annual event not only to raise money for the beneficiaries but also to bring attention to the dreaded disease, of breast cancer, that affect so many of our Bahamian women. 100 percent of the money raised by THE PINK RUN 5k, Bahamas will remain in The Bahamas to fund breast cancer and women’s health programs.
Beneficiaries for the events are: The Cancer Society of The Bahamas, The Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Sister Sister Breast Cancer Support Group and the Cancer Society of The Bahamas Grand Bahama Chapter. Marathon Bahamas has exceeded $400,000 in cash contributions to the beneficiaries.
Marathon

Half Marathon
The Half Marathon has quickly risen in popularity over the past few years. The flat course is ideal for all types of runners. Many participants have achieved their PRs at this event. For those beginning a new way of life in Health & Fitness, this is the perfect picturesque course for you to enjoy your run. This event is Walker Friendly. Relay
If the thought of running a marathon or half marathon is a daunting task, then solicit some friends, family and colleagues to participate in the relay. The four-person relay is designed to build team spirit, engender camaraderie and foster positive corporate challenge as well as the obvious – physical fitness. There is a distance for everyone and school and corporate teams are encouraged. Teams will run the marathon distance and compete for overall awards.

Fun destination run and a great way to escape winter weather and get your Vitamin D supply! Course could have been prettier but volunteers were exceptional, lots of water and gatorade every mile. Awesome medal. Shirt was ok (but i am a shirt snob).
We stayed at the Atlantis resort – beautiful resort with lots of activities, but you are definitely playing for it. The expo was at the Atlantis so that was very convenient. We took a taxi to the start ($20 each way, ~15 min away), but they do provide a shuttle for $20 per person round trip. Start had real bathrooms :).
